Located in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area, Merit Chinese School has served the local community since 1987. Merit Chinese School is non-political and non-religous in nature. It is also a non-profit organization registered under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The School teaches the Chinese dialect of Cantonese, found in regions of Hong Kong and Guangzhou, China. Starting in the 2006 school year, Merit Chinese School has expanded its educational program to include Mandarin Chinese. Our school enrollment is approximately 150 students, ages 5 to 17, from different parts of the metroplex, including Allen, Arlington, Carrollton, Coppell, Dallas, Frisco, Gainesville, Garland, Lewisville, Plano, Prosper, Richardson, Rockwall and Rowlett. Students at Merit Chinese School come from different regions of the world, including Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam and Thailand.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide an opportunity for children to learn the Chinese language and to understand their cultural heritage. The curriculum emphasizes reading and writing skills, listening and conversation, as well as moral education.
